We dropped into EV Free in Elgin today and was really happy to see some familiar faces.
Got some hugs... Gave some hugs...
The music and the sermon focused on "get out of the huddle and get into the game"...
I'm not a sports person but I got the visual.
It got me thinking...
About how the missions trip to Sanders, AZ in 1992 set our goals. It was a construction mission trip. We came back knowing that this was what we wanted to do when we retired.
We started to prepare. We started to pray.
We learned how to pray not for what we wanted but for what God wanted...
We learned so much from others and we came back to the huddle often for instructions.
And then our prayers were answered but not in a way we expected.
We thought obstacles were problems and problems needed to be solved... not learned from. So we prayed for no problems and all obstacles to be removed. We kept coming back to the huddle and we learned even more from others. We prayed for confidence, faith and wisdom. We learned to watch to see what GOD was doing. Every problem was a lesson. Every obstacle was a strength builder. Our faith and our trust in the Lord evolved the more we got out of the huddle... and got into the game.
God was always there. Always.
We were able to see that and be BLESSED in so many ways time and time and time again.
All Praises to God.
Hugs,
