As Hard Hats for Christ volunteer Missionaries we have to fill out an activity report and turn it into the office monthly.  It helps the office to keep track of "progress" on the project.  Normally, each project has a goal.  Paperwork submitted to the Hard Hats for Christ project director asking for Hard Hats to send volunteers, clearly states what the project goal is. Once we get onto a project we have a starting point and a stopping point. When you reach the goal, the project is completed and you go onto the next project. Well.... Not this time.

This project we're on at Mountain Ministries has no time frame, no time limit and no stopping point and that creates almost a fog of what actually gets done. Taking pictures is the only way I know to document what Lou was working on at a certain point of time. At any moment, whatever he's working on might have to be put aside when something more urgent needs his attention. He might think he is going to work on the laundry room today but if one of the donation centers calls and tell us that they just got in a shipment of donated items from Home Depot...
"and those cabinets you've been praying for are on the truck"... you better believe we are hooking the trailer on the jeep  and hurrying over to get it. 

Donated Materials to be used at Mountain Ministries

The kitchen cabinets in the main building will be replaced as soon as we have all the cabinets we need. It's a bit of a puzzle right now... mismatched and damaged cabinets mixed in with good ones.
It might take two or three phone calls more until we get everything but it's all God's timing.

The kitchen in the main building is functional but everything has needed fixing... The kitchen sprayer for rinsing the dirty dishes was one of the things that Lou worked on. Sometimes parts are broken and sometimes they are completely missing.  Lou made a few pieces to get this working.

The laundry room in the main building consisted of two washing machines and two dryers ... in two different locations.  With over 20 women (some with children) that wasn't enough washing machines and dryers and since they are all donated... some worked and some work a little longer than others.

Lou carved out a portion of the Directors Residence building

 for a real laundry room.

As you can see, it does not matter if it's gas or electric...
 there's hookups for both.

 Having the right tools and equipment has been a blessing.  Lou's made his little tool trailer into a fine work shop but he eventually moved some of his tools into a small room inside one of the buildings to give himself a little more elbow room.   His "elbows keep growing" and he needs more space all the time now.

Half the battle is knowing what you got and where it's at... 

knowing how to use it, is the easy part.

Progress continues... 

maybe not in any order that anyone's put down on paper

 but we have no doubt that it's progressing as the Lord provides... 

one donated item at a time...
