Summer's Over at FishBend

We had an "End of Summer" party for all the camp hosts and rangers. (Alasakan Belgium Waffles with Dove Ice Cream!) The "junior" rangers are going back to college now and the regular rangers are only seasonal workers so they will be leaving soon, too. One host leaves in a week. Three other host couples will be leaving before the middle of September and we will be leaving by the end of September. It's nice that they don't all leave at once but there is still a feeling of "empty nest" as each one goes. We've enjoyed being the Maintenance Hosts for the last three summers. We don't plan on being back next summer as hosts but we might come back for a long weekend just to visit with everyone who does.
